Meta launches Meta Enterprise Platform to bring its AI agents to businesses

Meta announced on 28 September 2026 that it is starting Meta Enterprise Platform, which Mark Zuckerberg called the next major pillar of the company's business. It will bring Meta's AI stack to businesses and developers, starting with the Muse agent, Meta Business Agent, Muse API and Muse Code.

What Meta announced

Zuckerberg wrote that the platform will build on Meta's advanced models, agents, large-scale infrastructure and years of work with businesses. It starts by offering Meta's full technology stack, including the Muse agent, Meta Business Agent, Muse API and Muse Code, to companies and developers.

CJ Desai joins as Chief Enterprise Platform Officer and reports directly to Zuckerberg. He was CEO and President of MongoDB, led product and engineering at Cloudflare and spent nearly eight years at ServiceNow, including as President and COO. Desai said the focus is on turning Meta's AI stack into products and services companies can deploy, with security and privacy built in from the start.

What it means for B2B sales teams

Meta already works with hundreds of millions of businesses through advertising and messaging, so a direct enterprise offer adds a large new vendor to the AI agent market that Salesforce, Microsoft, Google and HubSpot are already competing in. More competition usually means faster features and pressure on prices for buyers of AI sales tools.

For now the announcement has no pricing, availability dates or detailed feature list for enterprise customers. That makes Meta a vendor to watch rather than one to buy. The most practical angle for sales teams is customer conversations: if your buyers already talk to suppliers over WhatsApp or Messenger, Meta Business Agent is the product to follow.

What to do now

  • Note which of your target markets run business conversations on WhatsApp or Messenger, since that is where Meta's business tools matter most.
  • Do not change your stack yet; wait for product details, pricing and data processing terms for the EU.
  • Whatever agents you add, keep your CRM as the system of record so every conversation still lands in one sales process.
