This page collects B2B sales outsourcing statistics for 2026: what outsourced sales and SDRs cost, how cold email, calling and LinkedIn perform, how B2B buyers decide, how sales teams use AI, and what the numbers look like in Europe and the Czech Republic.

We used primary sources only, meaning the organization that ran the study or collected the data, and checked every figure on the publisher's own page or official release in September 2026. Figures are quoted exactly as published, not rounded, and we note where two studies measure the same thing in different ways.

We will update this page as new editions of these studies come out.

Sales outsourcing and SDR statistics: cost, ramp and attrition

Why companies outsource, what outsourced SDR programs and in-house hires cost, and how long new sales hires take to ramp. Dollar amounts are US market figures.

  • 50% of executives use outsourced services for front-office capabilities such as sales, marketing and R&D, according to Deloitte's 2024 Global Outsourcing Survey.
  • 34% of organizations named cost savings as their main reason to outsource in 2024, down from 70% in 2020, according to Deloitte's survey report.
  • 67% of executives have adopted managed or operate services, the outcome-based model, up from 45% two years earlier, according to Deloitte.
  • USD 3,000 to 14,000 a month is roughly what an outsourced SDR program costs, according to Leadium's 2026 cost guide.
  • USD 150 to 300 per appointment is the general pay-per-meeting rate, with USD 300 to 500 for meetings that match the ideal customer profile and USD 800 to 1,500 for verified executive meetings, according to Leadium.
  • USD 140,000 to 160,000 per productive year is the full cost of an in-house SDR, counting salary, benefits, tools, management overhead and replacement, according to Leadium.
  • USD 80,000 median SDR on-target earnings, about USD 55,000 base and USD 25,000 variable, according to The Bridge Group's 2025 SDR report of 351 B2B companies.
  • 3.0 months average SDR ramp time, according to The Bridge Group.
  • 40% median SDR attrition, with an average tenure of 1.9 years, according to The Bridge Group.
  • 6.2 months ramp time for new account executives, the longest in the study's history, according to The Bridge Group's 2026 AE report of 158 B2B companies.

A monthly fee only means something once you divide it by meetings. In Martal's worked example, a team costing USD 24,000 a month books 20 meetings:

Meetings countedCost per meeting
BookedUSD 1,200
Actually heldUSD 1,600
QualifiedUSD 2,667

Cold email, cold calling and LinkedIn statistics

Outbound still books meetings, but it takes volume and several touches. Reply-rate studies count in different ways, so never compare two studies as if they used one measure.

  • 3.43% average cold email reply rate, with the top quartile at 5.5% or more and the top 10% at 10.7% or more, according to Instantly's Cold Email Benchmark Report 2026.
  • 58% of cold email replies come from the first email in a sequence and 42% from follow-ups, according to Instantly.
  • 0.45% average reply rate across 7.5 million cold emails in 2025, counted against every email sent rather than against opens, according to Belkins, whose campaigns booked over 1,200 appointments.
  • 344 cold emails per booked meeting for the average rep, according to an analysis of more than 28 million cold emails on Gong's blog.
  • 8 touches, on average, to get an initial meeting with a new prospect, according to RAIN Group.
  • 2.7% average cold calling success rate, up from 2.3% the year before, according to Cognism's State of Cold Calling in 2026, which does not define success rate.
  • 12% of phone conversations (calls longer than one minute) ended in a booked meeting in 2024, according to Orum's dialer data.
  • 28.5% LinkedIn connection acceptance and a 10.4% message reply rate across 13,218,869 connection requests (May 2025 to April 2026), according to Expandi's LinkedIn Outreach Benchmarks 2026.
  • 8.8% LinkedIn message reply rate for software companies, below the platform average, according to Expandi.

B2B buying statistics: first contact, buying groups and stalled deals

Buyers do much of the work before they talk to a seller, decide in groups and often do not decide at all.

  • 61% of the way through their journey is when B2B buyers first contacted sellers in 2025 (69% in 2024), according to 6sense's 2025 B2B Buyer Experience Report of nearly 4,000 buyers.
  • 79% of engagements in 2025 were initiated by the buyer, not the seller, according to 6sense.
  • 95% of the time, the winning vendor was already on the day-one shortlist, and four out of five deals went to the pre-contact favorite, according to 6sense.
  • 10.1 months average B2B buying cycle in 2025, down from 11.3 months in 2024, partly because of sample composition, according to 6sense.
  • 13 internal stakeholders and nine external influencers take part in a typical buying decision, according to Forrester's State of Business Buying 2026.
  • 74% of B2B buyer teams show unhealthy conflict during the decision, in groups of typically 5 to 16 people, according to a 2024 Gartner survey of 632 buyers.
  • 86% of B2B purchases stall during the buying process, and 81% of buyers are dissatisfied with the provider they choose, according to Forrester's State of Business Buying 2024.
  • 40% to 60% of deals are lost to customer indecision rather than to a competitor, according to Harvard Business Review research on more than 2.5 million recorded sales conversations.
  • 67% of B2B buyers prefer a buying experience without a sales rep, and 70% a completely digital, self-service one, according to a Gartner survey of 645 buyers released in May 2026.
  • 46% of software buying decisions involved the finance team, up from 31% a year earlier, according to G2's 2026 Buyer Behavior Report.

AI in sales statistics: adoption, agents and results

AI is now standard on both sides of the deal. Results data is mostly observational, so read it as correlation, not proof.

  • 87% of sales organizations use some form of AI, according to Salesforce's 7th State of Sales report, a survey of more than 4,000 sales professionals in 22 countries.
  • 54% of sellers have used AI agents, and nearly 9 in 10 plan to by 2027, according to Salesforce.
  • 34% less time on prospect research and 36% less on drafting emails is what sellers expect from AI agents, according to Salesforce; these are expectations, not results.
  • Sales organizations that provide sellers with AI-enabled next best actions are 2.6x more likely to achieve commercial growth, according to a Gartner survey of 227 chief sales officers.
  • 57% of account executives were at quota in companies with the highest AI engagement, against 39% in the lowest, according to The Bridge Group's 2026 AE report, which notes this is not proof of cause.
  • 69% of B2B buyers prefer to validate AI-generated insights with sales reps, according to Gartner's May 2026 buyer survey.
  • 94% of business buyers use AI during their buying process, according to Forrester's State of Business Buying 2026, based on nearly 18,000 buyers.
  • 51% of B2B software buyers now start their research in an AI chatbot more often than in Google, up from 29% a year earlier, according to G2.

Sales productivity statistics: quota, selling time and win rates

Most sellers miss quota, and much of their week goes to work that is not selling.

B2B sales statistics for Europe and the Czech Republic

Most sales benchmarks are American; these come from Eurostat, the Czech Statistical Office and ABSL, the Czech business services association. Rules differ too: Czech law requires prior consent for commercial email, even to companies, except to existing customers for similar products, as the Czech data protection office explains. Check your case with counsel.

  • 20.0% of EU enterprises with 10 or more employees used AI in 2025, up from 13.5% in 2024, according to Eurostat.
  • 62.52% of EU enterprises in the information and communication sector used AI in 2025, the highest share of any sector, according to Eurostat.
  • 34.70% of EU enterprises using AI in 2025 applied it to marketing or sales, according to Eurostat.
  • 28.51% of EU enterprises used CRM applications in 2025, according to Eurostat.
  • 36.2% of Czech enterprises with 10 or more employees used CRM software in 2025, and 70.0% of large ones, according to the Czech Statistical Office.
  • 17.6% of Czech enterprises used AI technologies in 2025, three times the share in 2023, according to the Czech Statistical Office.
  • 200,000 jobs in 380 Czech business services centers in 2025, with 214,000 expected in 2026, according to ABSL's Report 2026.

  • CZK 42,000 to 52,000 gross a month, including variable pay, for an inside sales specialist at a Prague business services center (CZK 40,000 to 50,000 in the Brno region), according to Grafton's Q3 2025 survey of mainly starting salaries in the ABSL Report 2026.
  • 1.43% cold email reply rate in Poland, the highest of any country in Belkins' 2025 data and nearly three times its overall average, with European markets dominating the top 10.

Average hourly labor costs in 2025, from Eurostat (Czech and German values from its lc_lci_lev dataset):

What these numbers mean for your 2026 plan

  • Compare providers on cost per qualified meeting. In Martal's example one budget means USD 1,200 or USD 2,667 per meeting, depending on what you count. Use our cost guide and the calculator on our outsourced sales vs in-house SDR page.
  • Price the ramp before you hire. A new SDR needs about 3.0 months to ramp, and with 40% median attrition some hires will need replacing. If you need meetings sooner, look at IT sales outsourcing.
  • Plan sequences, not single emails. Eight touches per first meeting and 58% of replies from the first email call for a strong opener plus follow-ups across email, LinkedIn and phone, which is how our lead generation works.
  • Protect deliverability first. At 344 emails per meeting, inbox placement decides results. Google's sender guidelines ask bulk senders to keep reported spam below 0.1%; they cover personal Gmail accounts but make a good B2B floor. See why cold emails go to spam.
  • Reach buyers before the shortlist closes. First contact comes about 61% of the way through the journey and the winner is usually on the day-one shortlist, so start outreach early. Our IT sales leads guide shows where to find them.
  • Sell to the whole buying group. Thirteen internal stakeholders, conflict in 74% of buyer teams and 40% to 60% of deals lost to indecision make no decision your main competitor. See why B2B deals stall.
  • Use AI for preparation, people for judgment. Most sales teams use AI, yet 69% of buyers want to validate AI-generated insights with a rep. Our AI SDR vs outsourced sales comparison shows where each fits.

Frequently asked questions

What is the average cold email reply rate in 2026?

It depends on the method. Instantly's Cold Email Benchmark Report 2026 puts the average reply rate at 3.43%, with the top 10% of senders at 10.7% or more. Studies that count replies against every email sent report much lower rates, so compare figures only within the same study.

How much does an outsourced SDR cost compared with an in-house SDR?

Leadium puts US outsourced SDR programs at roughly USD 3,000 to 14,000 a month, against USD 140,000 to 160,000 per productive year for an in-house SDR with all costs counted. Our own plans start at 1,750 euros a month for 5 guaranteed qualified meetings, as shown on our pricing page.

What are the average SDR ramp time, attrition and quota attainment?

The Bridge Group's 2025 report on 351 B2B companies found an average SDR ramp of 3.0 months, an average tenure of 1.9 years, median attrition of 40% and 60% of SDRs at quota, the lowest in its series. In its 2026 study, new account executives took 6.2 months to ramp.

Do B2B buyers still want to talk to sales reps?

Most would rather not, yet most still want one to check AI answers. In a Gartner survey of 645 B2B buyers, 67% preferred a buying experience without a sales rep, while 69% prefer to validate AI-generated insights with one. 6sense found that buyers make first contact about 61% of the way through their journey.
