Close takes its Chloe Chat AI assistant out of beta for every customer
Close announced on 20 October 2026 that Chloe Chat, the AI assistant built into its CRM, is out of beta and available to every Close customer. Reps can ask it to prepare calls, draft follow-ups, update records and build reports, and it asks for approval before it changes anything.
What Close announced
Chloe Chat opens with Cmd+J on Mac or Ctrl+J on Windows from anywhere in Close. Because calls, emails, texts and notes already sit in the CRM, the assistant starts with that context. On a lead page it knows which lead you mean, and in a Smart View it can work through the whole filtered list.
Close lists jobs such as summarising the last conversation before a call, preparing every call on the day's calendar, recapping calls with draft follow-ups for review, searching call history for topics like pricing, and drafting a Workflow, Close's name for an automated outreach sequence. It can also hand calls to Close's Voice Agents. Before it changes a record, it shows the change and waits for the user to confirm.
New since the beta: it follows the email, call or text you have open, returns data as a table or chart, runs long requests in the background, and can use product details, pricing and FAQs that admins add as AI Knowledge Sources. Every plan includes a weekly Chloe Chat allowance that resets each week, and further use draws on AI credits that admins control.
What it means for B2B sales teams
This is another CRM moving admin work into a built in assistant rather than a separate tool. The useful part for smaller teams is the approval step and the fact that it works from data already in Close. The limit is cost visibility: the weekly allowance and the credit price are not stated in the announcement, so heavy use is hard to budget in advance.
For teams in Europe, Voice Agents only call US and Canadian numbers in English, so that part does not help European outbound today. Data storage and processing terms for the assistant are not stated in the announcement, so check them before you load call history from EU prospects into it.
What to do now
- If you use Close, start with call preparation and same day follow-ups and measure how much admin time it saves per rep.
- Add accurate product, pricing and FAQ content as AI Knowledge Sources before reps let it draft emails.
- Ask your admin to set credit limits and track usage for the first month.
- Review drafted outreach sequences against your own playbook; our IT sales training covers how to set one up.
