Attio adds custom Activities to its CRM and lets admins switch off the call recorder
Attio published a set of CRM updates on 29 October 2026. The main one is Activities, which records support tickets, social DMs and product events on a record as structured data. Workspace admins can also now disable the call recorder from settings.
What Attio announced
Activities let a team bring interactions such as tickets, social DMs and product events into the CRM, each with its own custom schema. They can be used in workflows, so a block can create, update or trigger on an activity. Attio's own example is a call that opens a deal. Activities can also be logged from any Zapier app or start a Zap. Reporting on them is in alpha.
Workflows can now message an individual person in Slack as well as a channel, and variables can pick the recipient. Broadcast and Celebration blocks also work for whole teams. The inbox was rebuilt: notifications carry more detail and a next step, and an Action needed view lists what is waiting on you. Relationship tabs on record pages became tables you can filter, sort and edit inline, and the side drawer now shows the same tabs as the full page.
Admins gain two controls. They can disable the call recorder from settings, and they can see which email domains are auto-protected and opt out.
What it means for B2B sales teams
This is useful for sellers whose best signals sit outside the CRM, such as a support ticket during a renewal or a product event in a trial. Attio says the structured data also gives agents context to act on. How much that helps depends on your data; the changelog gives no performance figures.
There is a compliance side too. Tickets and DMs hold personal data, so teams selling in Europe should check their GDPR basis before copying them into a sales system. Recording rules differ by country and, in the US, by state. An admin switch makes a clear policy easier to enforce, but it does not replace one.
What to do now
- List the two or three outside signals that actually change a deal, and start with those rather than logging everything.
- Decide who may record calls and in which markets, then set the recorder to match.
- Review which email domains are auto-protected, and opt out only where you have a clear reason.
- Map each new activity to a step in your sales process, and hold off on reports built on activities until the feature leaves alpha.
